Beats Kreepy Hands down. I have bought new and worn out numerous Kreepy Krawlys in my pool over the last 30+ years. Some versions worked better than others with the last and latest being the worst. None worked perfect, but all were way better than manual cleaning. Hanging up on steps was always a possible issue depending on the water level (or maybe moon phase….?) and the last one would not even climb/clean the walls. Add that parts have become stupid expensive, and it was apparent it was time for a change. Decided to change... read more
Should have bought this years ago! The media could not be loaded. I have to say, I am very impressed by this zodiak G3.Low cost for a suction pool cleaner, only one or two parts to replace if a part is old (also low cost for parts), Very easy to install, and also saves a lot of energy with the pump. I believe the last statement applies only/mainly if you use variable speed pump! Before, I used my Zodiak MX6 every day for 2 hours, and it ran at 2750RPM@ 655watts.Now (See pic above), my G3 works at 1950RPM@ 238Watts. That is a ... read more
No Assembly Instructions and only So-So Performance Although it's not that hard to assemble - IF you know what goes where. If they would just put a small insert with a schematic as to how to place the parts that need to be added on, there would be a lot less frustration with this product. When finally assembled and in the water, the G3 goes backwards following the hose - or presumably pushing the hose. That's your first clue that you didn't assemble the thing properly... but no, that's the way it is made. The problem here is... read more
Pool vacuum that works great The media could not be loaded. Robbie the Robot (yes I know it's not a robot, but it got named that...) Been using for about 2 months and it works great. Few tips... You have to get the suction pressure dialed in. They give you a gauge to do that. The hose seems to dictate where it will travel, so if it's windy and pushing the hose to one area of the pool that's where it will linger. There are easy ways to get around that.We have 2 side drains on one intake line and a skimmer on the other. I firs... read more
Tips to make it work great… I didn’t love this cleaner at first. It was always getting stuck at corners, and miss cleaning a lot of the pool due to staying in the same general track, hugging the edges a lot. I had the suction in the range suggested. However, I got a new pool filter and hadn’t changed the valves to lower the suction at the strainer where I put the hose. It turned out that if I have the suction just a little above the top of the range, just above the 3 on the tester, it now climbs the walls instead of getting ... read more
It’s worth the price compared to cheaper versions I can always wish this was cheaper but it’s not. 2 years ago I decided to try a cheaper version to clean my pool. That was not a good decision. I constantly had to get it unclogged, or make sure it was working SEVERAL times a day. Regardless of this cheaper product being cheaper, it wasn’t.This product has been running without one problem since I put it in my pool. I get leaves and other items especially at the beginning of the season. Texas can be pretty strange in the sprin... read more
Cleans Great, Couple Quirks This thing does a great job of cleaning our pool.. mostly. There is a 4' x 6' area or so of our pool that it just won't cover because it falls into a pattern of going around that spot. Not a huge deal, I just brush that area once in a while and the vacuum gets that stuff from other areas. It does fall and get stuck upside down fairly regularly. I've been trying over a couple months to add weights and floats to the hose to prevent that, but it still happens. At least it is very easy to flip it back... read more
Best Value for The Money The G-3 is a great value, especially for those with kidney shaped pools. However, this is definitely not a "perfect" cleaner and has its flaws. With proper hacks and maintenance protocols, it is a very competent device. But those who desire maintenance or tinkering free activity on a weekly basis, pool owners should look elsewhere to robotic "crawl" cleaners that unfortunately exist at higher price point.Pro Tip 1--The suction or difficulty in separating out the cannister seals to empty the filter is... read more
Great value for the money and works great I purchased this because my neighbor has three very large mahogany trees that shed tens of thousands of leaves into my pool. one they remain on the water for for several hours, the sink to the bottom. I took a chance and purchased this as an alternative to a much more expensive robotic cleaner and I'm glad I did. Setting it up was pretty easy, but I had to adjust the valve on my DE filter to reduce the intake from the bottom pickup to about 50% and 50% on the skimmer. I also had to a... read more
