Reliable - Cost effective - low/no maintenance I've had this pool cleaner for about 6 years (same unit). It's become part of the family - we call her "Ursella" after the Villainess in The Little Mermaid. I have a custom shaped pool with a lot of rounded corners and relatively little depth change. Love this cleaner! We just replaced our old Hayward pool vac that came with the house/pool with the baracuda. We never liked the hayward but it was easier to attach the vac to the hose if it was left in the pool and we could just swap the vac head for the hayward pool vac so we ran it everyday for the past 2 years. I wish it had broke sooner because the Baracuda is 100x's better. It climbs the walls, does the love seat, and goes from end to end where as the old one just circled in the deep end. Perfect Baracuda G3 (Good cleaner) It's hard to rate this product. If you already have one and are just looking to replace it, then I give it 5 stars, it's great. Almost half the price what my normal pool store here in Texas charged for a new one!!!. You know what you are getting and this is a the same thing you had just new, it's the real thing. Great Upgrade I've had this pool cleaner for a few months and I'm really glad I purchased it. We haven't had a pool for very long and I thought the problems we had with our Hayward cleaner were to be expected with all types and brands of cleaners. I've learned that this is not the case and a having a great cleaner really does reduce maintenance time. Over 2 years of daily use I bought the G3 at a local store, which was having a sale at the time. I live in Florida, so we use it daily 4 - 6 hours a day. Today the diaphragm broke after 2 years. Not bad at all! It gets stuck on the corner of the concrete steps of the pool; hence, the 4 stars. Ours is a 10K gallon pool screened in although the palm trees do spit out seeds that the machine has picked up. I am now in the market for the G3 diaphragm. The apparatus is made of plastic and yes, it feels cheap, but it does the work.
JUST BOUGHT IT great design and ONLY 1 moving part, i just purchased this product and it seemed to be doing a very good job, but yesterday i did notice some problems, however i discovered it was not with the cleaner it was my suction of my pump and the water level of my pool that was the problem. yesterday the cleaner was running in a small circular pattern over itself and coiling up the hose, time after time, and this getting stuck right where the suction hose comes out of the wall. i properly set my suction to a higher set... read more
Love it! After going through 3 navigators with lots of foot & wing replacements and tangles I decided to try the Baracuda G3. I watched carefully for 3 days and tried it with and without the ring guard. It did sometimes get hung-up on steps with the guard on and with the guard off the hose would sometimes conform to the corner of the pool near the steps and hold it from climbing the steps.
