Barracuda G3 This is my second Barracuda pool cleaner. I prefer them because they have a minimum of moving parts, and few parts that are prone to wear out against the pool surface. I generally get 6-7 years out of this brand, with a few repairs necessary during the life span of the product. I live in Florida, so my pool cleaner is in use 12 months a year. They have improved the ability with this model for it not to get stuck in sharp corners around built in steps, or at the ladder. Great value for my buck.
Baracuda pool cleaner We bought this to replace our old model that finally quit after 12 long years! It's a fantastic product and I like the way it cleans our pool. Have tried other products before going to the baracuda. There's no comparison. I hightly recommend this product!! Thank goodness it was on Amazon!
Baracuda Devours Kreepy Krauly Frankly, the reviews of suction side pool cleaners were so equivocal I had a hard time making a decision. Fortunately, I think I made the right choice. I have had the Baracuda G3 for 1-1/2 months and it works like a charm. Infinitely better than the Kreepy Krauly I put up with for years, and much quieter. Highly recommended I had a pool with a Hayward cleaner and every few years I would spend over $200 to repair it. I bought a house with a pool that had a Baracuda G3 cleaner. The Baracuda G3 has only one part to replace every few years, the diaphragm, and it costs less than $30 and is very easy to replace. The disc and pad are the only other parts I have replaced and they last over 5 years. I just replaced the entire unit after more than 10 years of use. Barracuda Does the Job Money well spent. We have used Barracuda since replacing our Manta in 2006 with total satisfaction. Our original dealer back in the 80's gave us the opportunity to trial every in ground cleaner that they carried. We finally decided to try a Manta above ground model that worked the best. It was an East Coast install so only ran 4-5 months each year. We moved the unit with us to Hawaii. Look No Further Than The Baracuda G3! Have owned a Baracuda G3 for 7 years now. Only moving part is the diaphragm which can easily be replaced at a cost of $11 on line here at Amazon. THAT is the only thing I have replaced with this cleaning monster. When your Baracuda stops, it's the diapgragm. Works well but gets stuck occasionally... I am generally very please, love the fact that it is low maintenance. But it lacks the ability to reverse, so will occasionally get stuck in my one tight corner, at the base of the drop off from my Baja step. Still trying to develop a strategy to cope with this one fault. Not the products fault, it would be superior in smooth, continuous bottomed pool.
Baracuda G3 W03000 We have had the Baracuda in the past and it worked good on our pool. As long as you put the round ring on it will move away from the steps and other objects/obstacles in your pool. Our first Baracuda, we did not have the round ring on it would get stuck on the steps. We installed all included parts and this thing goes up the walls and around steps like it is suppose to operate. I recommend this pool cleaner. Love it! Our pool stays really clean now.
Very happy with Baracuda G3 so far (update 2013) Old review is below, but I'm updating to say the Barracuda has been in my pool for over 2 years now and I haven't had a single service issue with it. I have followed the instructions about removing the unit from the pool if you need to do a heavy chlorine shock, and I only run the pump 2 hrs or less per day (which has kept the pool perfectly clean), so perhaps these are the tricks to avoiding diaphragm wearout that others have complained about.
