Does the job very well I needed a new pool cleaner and I picked the Baracuda Ranger because of its excellent ratings. I am very impressed. It does the job much better than my first pool cleaner (Kontiki). It was easy to assemble.
Verdict's In...It's A Keeper We have a 24 foot round, above ground pool. I used a traditional hand vacuum for 5 years before I finally broke down and bought this automatic vacuum. I really love it! Assembling the vacuum head was a little difficult. My husband found the directions to not be completely clear. Once assembled, we placed it in the pool and let it go to work. It vacuumed very well. Good for the money It is easy to hook up and you can just let it run as long as you want. I have to guide it to get the last couple of spots but over all it does a fine job and is worth the money. I have a 28' pool and what I got right out of the box worked great so I didn't have to spend any more on hose or anything else.
Baracuda 3.5 stars This is a pretty decent automatic vacuum....I haven't had a chance to run it while the ladder is in yet....but it did pretty well with it out...it's not perfect....but it's good for the price!....I would recommend it.

good product Bought this Ranger, and it is pretty good, cleaned the pool real fast, it got hung up by the stairs every now and then, but, no biggie, or caught up on the side wall, just tug the hose, and it starts moving again. I feel you don't have to leave it in the pool all the time, I put it in on friday night for a couple of hours, run it saturday morning for a couple of hours, and we're set to go for the weekend. highly recommended We purchased this to replaced the Polaris above ground pool cleaner. the Polaris only cleaned about 3/4 of the pool. This does the entire pool in about 2 hours even picking up sand from last year that the Polaris never picked up.
