I was outraged to receive the work estimate of $2,029.00 for installation of a 38 gallon water heater. The estimater initially said my supply line was leaking and said it would cost $800.00 to replace it (a $13.00 part). The leak was actually from the water heater above mine. Then the estimate was $1,836 for a new water heater (Home Depot charges $369.00 for a 38 gallon water heater).
