I loved this area. It was close enough to walk to both Porter and Davis, but was out of the way. I frequented Tacos Lupita quite often, along with that Starbucks. I would gladly move back to the Ville.
Chestnut Hill is located between Brookline and Newton, MA. It's very suburban, but is connected to the greater Boston area via the T. There is no parking on street for many blocks, which can be challenging during snow storms. Great grocery stores and mall (best Macy's I've been to)! Very short drive to i95, which is key. Unfortunately, the major street in Chestnut Hill is Rte 9 which can have a lot of traffic. Also home to the smaller and more delicious Oiishi!
Great access to the Green Line and the Prudential Center, and a short walk to the South End. A bit touristy though, so you might have to walk an extra couple blogs to find the better restaurants or avoid holiday crowds.
Great apartment, great price, really beautiful neighborhood near the Charles. Darwin's is nearby as well which is a great place.
Loved this apartment. Well-priced, responsive and friendly landlords (family owned, NOT copley group). Easy walk to Longwood/ Harvard Med as well as Back Bay. 5min walk to the Green Line Fenway stop.
Adorable house with front and back porch, backyard, sweet kitchen and pantry. Street is very cute, generally a great neighborhood. I'd recommend checking out for breakfast Soundbyte Cafe on Broadway as well as Johnny's. YUM.
Great place to live if you don't mind a firehouse two blocks away. Convenience store directly across street and inside the store there is a kick-ass affordable cafe towards the back. Daily specials, delicious wraps and full-on entrees, and quick service too. Dry Cleaners steps away. and adjacent to the Cleaners is a overpriced neighborhood Breakfast/Lunch spot called Hi-Rise Bread Co. Be prepared to be met with snobbery. the workers aren't particularly warm. But then again, no one is in Boston...
This is a great location within 10 minutes walk to both Harvard and Central Squares. It is a quiet area and has ample street parking. There are bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants and banks all in close walking distance. The neighborhood is a good mix of families and students. Running/walking paths are available along the Charles River.
Fun area but quite a hike from the city. Good, young vibe for people working in cambridge or going to tufts
