Nice construction, right next to the freeway, plenty of carts available, unit has a nice tall 11 foot ceiling. Everything was extra clean and the owner was pretty friendly over the phone. They could definitely use some training though, especially on what the contract says. Definitely not necessary, but after you go through the first door to get into the elevator, they require you to Retake the same password in again so you feel extra safe and their nice new fancy building. Great place, staff is really friendly and respectful but I do wish they had a water fountain on every floor.
There are a lot of storage places in National City but I will tell you why I didn't like A-1 Self Storage. They raised the rent up after 5 months. If you go to National/54 Self Storage across the street, you can find better cheaper deals over there. This place also does not inform you in the new policy changes. I did not receive a phone call, a text message, or an email of the new policy changes which cost me having to move out of my storage unit the following month. The gentleman on the front desk was very helpful and patient . The property is very clean and in order. The parking is convenient and right next to the building. No need to walk far. The elevator is spacious. Prices are a bit more but well worth it.
