Well, everyone keeps saying we have to try the charbroiled oysters at Acme... so we did. Four of us, four drinks, and four dozen oysters. Two ordered regular... and two well done. I have to say... I'm no expert on these... but they were fantastic. The service was acceptable, but nothing spectacular and the restaurant was busy. I think we are just starting our look at charbroiled oysters and Acme sets a strong standard for us to compare with for future reviews. There was one issue... one order came with what appeared to he a ... read more

If I said it was better than Deanies would you believe me? Well it was, and that's saying something cause I hold Deanies in high regard. We went for the oysters but also had crab claws and a huge seafood platter. Really enjoyed it.

My family and I went to dinner here and were greeted in the parking lot by the smell of the grill. We are from Oklahoma, so we tried things that are not on the menus back home. My wife had a sampler with Jambalaya, Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice. She raved about the Jambalaya and Red Beans & Rice and I ate her Gumbo as she said it was OK but not really her favorite. I had the shrimp Po' Boy and was not disappointed. There was plenty of shrimp and the French bread was crusty and and had great chew to it. My son braved the 10 Napkin ... read more

I've only eaten here twice but both times were excellent. The chargrilled oysters came out sizzling both times and were generously seasoned. I was also surprised by how good the seafood gumbo tasted. I shared a Caesar salad with my girlfriend, which came out after the first round of oysters but was still very good. You really can't go wrong at restaurant that serves Abita Strawberry seasonal brew on tap.

Come here whenever passing through or enjoying NOLA. Prices are higher than the good old days but what isn't. Food is still very good. Service always good. Had 1 raw oyster as big as the palm of my hand. Rest were good size too. Grilled oysters good but go with the raw. Gumbo mild but tasty. Beer and cocktails good too. What's not to like. Saw some negative reviews. Don't get it. Don't live here but everytime I come here it's good. If you can't recommend a better place quit your bitching. Annual visit to Nola. Oysters still ... read more

You must go here!. We were here from Melbourne, Australia and this is exactly what we wanted, something authentically creole that screams New Orleans. This place did exactly that (literally) and was a dead give away based on seeing lines of people out the door every night in the freezing cold - which is exactly what we did one night, totally worth it! Staff and service was great (wonderful sense of humor), always keeping on top of what we needed. The food didn't take long to come out and my god, I wish I had two stomachs l... read more

We have been coming to Acme for the last five years. We had the honor of sitting at the bar with Hollywood as he shucked oysters. The food here is really good and well priced. It's touristy, but really good.
