The facility is new and clean. The apartment I was shown was nice and designed well. The common areas are attractive. The place was very quiet. I didn't see much going on. Patients sat on the front porch. There were few staff members floating around. I didn't feel a happy vibe. The prices for rooms are high. Care is extra. I feel neutral about this place,

I was there when they were doing a sing along which was so much fun to watch. Lots of people were sitting outside in front of the building underneath the veranda. The place smells very clean. On the 2nd floor there are enclosed balconies. Downstairs has a courtyard with putt-putt golf. There are reading rooms, wii bowling, pool (game only), a rehab-type gym, salon, art room, reading area, planting of veggies is encouraged, menu changes are every 6 weeks. I just placed my husband here in memory care. He is thriving in harbor chase!!
This brand-new facility is impressive. The decor is fabulous, the staff are friendly, and the location is ideal for anyone wishing to have their family close to Wellington. It is a "shelter in place" facility to my knowledge, built to the new standards. It features the ability for a resident to slowly transition from Assisted Living to Memory Care (they hold a special license for this) so residents can "drop in" on either of two Memory Care units on any day that wandering or escaping might be a concern. There were wonderful experiences, but sometimes my loved one did not receive meds. There was an incident, where my loved one was not fed. The food, and activities were great. They need to know what the agreed upon deliverables are.
This was one of the most traumatic experiences I've had as of late. The director disparaged us because my parent is on Medicaid (then don't accept Medicaid if you think we're beneath you) and we were misled and did not end up moving in. I have a credible witness who can attest to this. The executive team was no better. They treated us like they were doing us a favor and seemed to forget who their bread and butter is. I was in the process of moving my mother into memory care. This facility withdrew money from my account that was not justified. It took over 3 months for them to provide a statement justifying the amount of the withdrawal, and there was over $5800 in charges that were not authorized.
