I love this assisted living location. Both of our parent reside at HC in Wellington and they are very happy. The director and entire staff are fantastic. They all work very..... hard to try to make all residents and their families feel like HC is their extended family. Unfortunately, some families think things should be 100% perfect in all areas, but no facility can be perfect. The facility is new and clean. The apartment I was shown was nice and designed well. The common areas are attractive. The place was very quiet. I didn't see much going on. Patients sat on the front porch. There were few staff members floating around. I didn't feel a happy vibe. The prices for rooms are high. Care is extra. I feel neutral about this place,

I was there when they were doing a sing along which was so much fun to watch. Lots of people were sitting outside in front of the building underneath the veranda. The place smells very clean. On the 2nd floor there are enclosed balconies. Downstairs has a courtyard with putt-putt golf. There are reading rooms, wii bowling, pool (game only), a rehab-type gym, salon, art room, reading area, planting of veggies is encouraged, menu changes are every 6 weeks. I just placed my husband here in memory care. He is thriving in harbor chase!!
This brand-new facility is impressive. The decor is fabulous, the staff are friendly, and the location is ideal for anyone wishing to have their family close to Wellington. It is a "shelter in place" facility to my knowledge, built to the new standards. It features the ability for a resident to slowly transition from Assisted Living to Memory Care (they hold a special license for this) so residents can "drop in" on either of two Memory Care units on any day that wandering or escaping might be a concern. Food quality and tastiness 3.5 out of 5. Disappointed that Alamar advertised prepared food 24 hours a day but it is only available in 2 hour time blocks with dinner 4:30 - 6:30pm and breakfast not served until 8am. Nursing staff is very difficult for residents to contact but do seem concerned. Poor communication between nursing staff from shift to shift. Short staffed for maintenance, and, again difficult to contact to take care of in room maintenance issues. Seems to be a lot of upper level staff turn-over going on. That sa... read more

There were wonderful experiences, but sometimes my loved one did not receive meds. There was an incident, where my loved one was not fed. The food, and activities were great. They need to know what the agreed upon deliverables are.
