I had a great - 5 star - experience with the lending officer, Alex Bokich, but a very frustrating experience with the underwriting process. If it wasn't for Mr. Bokich fighting for me, this deal likely would have gone to another lender whose underwriters were capable of applying basic common sense principles when reviewing the loan. I'm not a lending expert, but for me, the underwriter's findings defied logic. It seems that they do not understand the distinction between the letter of a law, and the intent of a law. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a mortgage broker. After moving forward with Alex based on the “best rate” he provided, I later found a significantly better offer from another lender—saving me thousands. When I gave Alex a chance to match it, he couldn’t. Instead, he began repeatedly calling, texting, and sending emails, while speaking negatively about the other lender in a very unprofessional way.
