Nice table by the water, but overall ambiance is dated. Server prompt and friendly, at first. My wife wanted a “christmassy” drink, something with peppermint, server said she had an idea….well, she never did. Went to the bar, bartender gruff like I was putting him off, asked if he had any ideas. Answer was no, had no peppermint liquors. Vegetable soup was fine, the shrimp cocktail, “local” shrimp, was a joke. 5 small shrimp, mushy and tasteless, like the shrimp you get in bags at the grocery. We celebrate our daughter’s birthday every year at Alexander’s when she arrives from New York City. This year we asked for a table in the wine bar area, near the beautifully decorated fireplace. We were so happy that our request was able to be honored. Our food was delicious and our server, Dave, was attentive and helpful.
