After taking my senior rescue Great Dane in for a nail trim, which required sedation due to his history of neglect, I questioned the drugs and doses they administered. I explained it took 2 full days for him to return to normal and suggested we look at other sedation options. I was told “since you don’t trust us, we will not be sedating you’re dog again”. When I tried to explain why I would prefer a different drug, one that has the ability to be reversed should there be issues, I was told no...they knew what was best. I ... read more

I am sorry... I think you must be posting this under the wrong business. I cannot find you listed as a client at our business. If you believe you have the correct business, please message me so that we can discuss your concerns and improve the quality of our services.
I have taken my hunting dog here since she was just a tiny pup. Usually had decent experience here but I had an emergency where she gashed her chest open and needed stitches. They told me since I didn’t have a appointment that they would have to charge me for an after hours emergency fee to see her. Which it wasn’t after hours and they were open. So needless to say my dogs will no longer be going here. I do not recommend these people at all. I stopped at a highly recommended vet in League city and they took me in without any... read more
Business response:
I am very happy that you were able to find care for your pet. We do charge $ 15 extra for walk in patients after 4 pm. This is to cover the cost of paying employees to work overtime when they are forced to stay late cleaning up after late patients. I am very sorry that we were unable to help you today.
On first check-up don't start with saying my cat needs complete teeth extraction $500 - $800 cost. Glad I got a second opinion.
Business response:
I am very glad that you sought a second opinion ! major medical decisions should always be made by getting the advice of the most experienced, most knowledgeable doctor possible. I always recommend that clients seek a second opinion from an expert in the particular problem that their kitty is having. If you have not brought your kitty to see a board certified veterinary dentist yet, then I strongly encourage you to seek a third opinion. Most veterinarians have little to no advanced dental training, so if the second opinion ... read more
Let me start by saying that my family and I have been using Alvin Animal Clinic since the 90’s when DR. Baker was the owner. I have continued to use the facility until this past week. On Wednesday December 5TH my Doberman Missy who I have had for 10 years since she was a puppy and that I was VERY attached to had to be put down due to cancer. My wife had her cremated and gave very specific instructions for the staff not to call me and to call my wife (they even wrote it down on their paperwork). On Tuesday December 11TH a... read more
Business response:
Mr. Hensley, We have always valued your family as clients here at Alvin Animal Clinic, and have enjoyed serving you over the years since I took over in 2005. I am very sorry to hear about the loss of Missy. She was a particularly sweet girl and will be missed. Losing a pet or family member is never easy, and I am very sorry to hear that you had a poor experience. If specific instructions for contacting an owner are left , then those instructions should always be followed. I am investigating this matter and will do everyt... read more
