Shelli M, I understand your situation completely. This happened to our fence as well during the storm in July. The cost of repair from American Fence was outrageous and the fence was only three weeks old. Communication is absolutely horrible!!! Currently, we have another broken post and it has been scheduled for repair forever and nobody ever shows up or even gives a curtesy call. Communication was fine, it took longer than expected due to COVID, but that was understandable. July 2021 we had a major storm go thru the area. The winds ripped out 3 posts. This was 7 months after completion date. Called American Fence and of course in our paperwork there is limited warranty and does not cover damage caused by acts of God. Ok.. had them come quote what repair would be. The total cost of the fence new was $3600. Received a quote for $1200 FOR ONLY 3 POSTS! Our experience with this company could not be any worse. I'll try to keep it short but it is hard. We got a quote from them for a wood fence and a wood gate that was supposed to be built on concrete. After comparison, we decided to go with them. After signing the contract and paying half of the price, they showed up and said the concrete is not thick enough and they can build it over the grass which will be 350 dollars more (they had to figure that out when they were giving us the quote, but anyways, we decided to continue w... read more

Do not contract with American Fence unless you want to pay someone else to fix the problems you will be left with. Here are a few of the numerous problems I had dealing with American Fence for two years: The deck railing was constructed so that it blocked my electrical box so it could not be opened -- that's a City code violation. When I called American Fence about this problem, I was yelled at for checking with the City and having the inspector come out. Eventually, the railing was moved, but only because I complained. Shortly after moving into my home I had them install a fence and two gates on my deck. The fence was put up with no issue, happy with the work, but the gates were a joke. I advised they were to keep dogs in, but they obviously don't understand that requires quality product and installation. I had to wait for the gates and when installed they were of the cheapest quality. One was installed backwards and the other simply screwed into the steps, with zero support. How is this company still in business. Every utility was flagged before they put in the fence, yet they still cut the Spectrum cable, and Lincoln Electric cable when they installed the fence. Unfortunately, they don't take responsibility for their mess up, but pass the repair costs on to the customer. The cable company repair alone will cost me $2000 because of American's incompetence, I haven't found out yet what the ************************ cost to repair will be.
