I see there are many complaints about Amerigas. We need propane, we were at 20some%, now at 3. It's winter. The delivery window is way past and the foreign call center keeps disconnecting my calls. On the phone for 2 hours yesterday, disconnected. Again today - twice disconnected. These people need to be out of business. They own the tanks, we rent them. I rented a home in ***********, ** for six months, an outside gas bottle aready was beside the home which fueled the fireplace. I paid Amerigas to fill the bottle one time and paid for the service. Six months later I moved out of the home. One year later I receive another bill from Amerigas for rental for the gas bottle which was not their tank to begin with, and for additional changes for $247. I had called and spoke to AmeriGas emergency line requesting critical life safety heating propane fill due to being at 5% with less than a day of heating. I was told the district is shut down due to hazardous weather conditions and the soonest they could fill will be 02/09/2026-02/16/2026. Been a customer of ********************** for 5 years. Requested delivery through online portal when 500 gallon tank was 20 percent full on 1/24. We ran out of gas 1/31. Been calling every day trying to get tank filled but call center uninterest in helping. Still do not have a firm delivery date today 2/3. Temperatures below freezing every day. Will never do business with Amerigas again.
I am not surprised by the low rating that AmeriGas has received here. They bought out a local gas company and immediately ran it into the ground. I called to schedule a tank refill, the call center in ***** (apparently) gave me a 3-day window of when it would happen. They stated that I would receive an email the day prior, I did receive the email, but they were a no-show on the "scheduled" day of delivery @ $3.49 a gallon. I am canceling my account with ********************** due to extremely poor customer service and unfair billing practices. When I initially signed up, I was never charged a tank rental fee, yet out of nowhere AmeriGas began charging $118 per year and refused to waive it. I have two accounts with them at the same property, and they are now attempting to charge rental fees for three tanks without any prior agreement. If there was a negative 5 star, that would be my choice. I called Amerigas 3 days prior to winter storm fern to request propane. I spoke to ******* in ***** -- yes, ****** "*****' in ***** assured me that I had enough gas to make it 18 days. She miraculously was able to tell me this about my tank level, my use etc from *****! I paid $1,700 for urgent propane delivery because I needed gas immediately. ************ took my money almost instantly, then canceled the delivery without notifying me at all.I went three full days without gas because of this. No call. No email. No explanation.Since then, I have:Been unable to get anyone on the phone Not received my refund Been told I cant even cancel until tomorrow, despite the fact that no gas was ever delivered
I have been a customer for several years and have never received such horrible customer service as I did recently. We ran out of propane and was willing to pay the emergency fee and the refused. I do not recommend this business at all.
