When I purchased my home, an AmeriGas tank was already installed. I called them to ask what was involved in refilling the tank. I was told it was very easy, just call to schedule one time or get on a regular delivery schedule. I got a one-time refill and they encouraged me to sign up for an online account for billing. Beware! This company charged me $227 for what I was told to cover setting up a propane tank on my property for rental. A ***resentative came for approximately 15 minutes, I showed him two places where we wanted the tank, he chose one saying the filling up of tank would need to be closer. We agreed and I was referred to another party for installing lines and gas logs. We decided against having the the gas tank, but they insisted we pay $227 because it was for a "site survey". Called for propane refill in ***** and was promised delivery 12-2 to 12-5. Was told that, if I wanted sooner, there would be a $300 surcharge. Called on 12-5 to get status...told maybe 12-6 to 12-9. I requested a propane delivery on 12/6 and was told delivery would be between 12/13-12/16. I request delivery when I have plenty of propane in anticipation of having to wait up to 10 days. As of today, 12/16, someone has changed the estimated delivery to 12/16-12/19 and I'm running low on propane now (my home is heated with it and we go through it quickly when it's really cold.) Im a former employee, I was with the company for 4 years and 4 months. I was let go without a warning or write up for a time punch error which I discussed with my manager. Ive never been written up during my tenure mind you. To no avail, I was let go even knowing I was a top performer, rarely missing work, being flexible and helping out where help was needed, training several new trainees and getting the job done safely. 1. Last year tried 4 times to have my autopay fixed (I am on autopay but I always receive a late notice and end up logging into my account and paying online. Every attempt at least 20 min on phone with friendly person from another country.2. I was not able to log in to my account until accepting new terms by checking a box. In order to log into my online account they require me to sign a new 3 year lease on my tank; this must be some sort of illegal. I can't update the autopay info without this access per the call center. The call center is 100% useless, I cant talk to anyone that actually works at the company.Just like ***** M below I got the same gate locked message and spent over an hour on the phone to try and get a delivery rescheduled. It eventually got delivered 4 days after they said it would.
We have always went through a local company, but recieved discount in the mail from Amerigas for first time customers. We decided to go with them as money is tight this year. We paid up front $411 for 170 gallons of propane. When delivery came to fill our tank he said he could not fill it due to a leak. Another driver came out a couple days after to repair the tank.
