I have been an AmeriGas customer since 2006 and to say that anything they offer is customer service is an absolute joke. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The only reason I stuck with them for so long is because no other service was available to me in my area. Their per gallon amount is almost $2.50 higher than the company I just signed up with, and this is the rate for a customer who has been with them for literal decades. Worst company and customer service. Was a customer for 13 years (way too long). This spring I was quoted $4.85 per gallon so I started calling around switched to a local company that charged me $1.88 per gallon. Called Amerigas to come pick up their empty tank (this actually took 4 phone calls, two emails, an online chat, and about 90 minutes of gold time on the phone) and they are charging me a pick up fee of $420. If you move into a house with an Amerigas tank, switch immediately
Amerigas doesn't deserve a 1 star, it deserves 0 stars. The worst company you will ever encounter. Just don't put yourself though the pain. What to expect, hours on the phone waiting to talk to someone, multiple calls and waiting to resolve concerns, and when you finally say enough is enough, expect a bill of $430+ for them to come to your house and pickup their tank which takes all of 15 minutes to load. This company has been cheating us out of propane for years now. They charge double what another propane company has quoted me, and when I asked Amerigas to relinquish its tank so we can use another company, they refuse!!We then asked them if we could buy the tank from them so that we can then use another company and again, they refused! Ive disconnected my service 3 times now on a home we were renting and Im still getting billed..currently on hold at minute 45 again, on my 8th time trying to get this resolved. And no, I cant schedule a call back on Thursday, last time I did that and my assistant answered the phone you told her she wasnt authorized..
This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We had different issues during our service time with them and each time we called customer service they gave us a representative that did not speak English and we couldn't understand each other. When their prices were finally too high for us we switched companies and told them to close our account and come get their tank. They started invoicing us for the tank and told us it would be $400 if we wanted them to come and pick it up. I wish we had never got involved with this compa... read more
They will only respond if they will make money. They charge twice the going price for propane. Try to close the account and they wont answer the phone. Do not do buissnes with them!
terrible customer service and they charge above going rates for propane. billed me $300.00 for an "emergency" delivery that ended up taking three days. Have been unable to get anyone on the phone. Tried again this morning and the recording said they had too many calls and disconnected me. driver lied about trying to get a hold of me and lied about being unable to access the property. asa soon as my tank is empty (so that I do not have to pay for propane removal) I will terminate them. I recently changed my residential propane service because of unfair business practices. The propane service in the complaint is AmeriGas. When I canceled my service with AmeriGas they told me I would be charged a cancellation fee of $471. This is an unacceptable and outrages fee in that no other propane service in my area charges a cancellation fee. Also, AmeriGas stated it would be 4 - 6 weeks for them to come and remove their tank.
