Ripoff! Since purchasing out local company the prices have gone through the roof. They are atleast. 20 cents higher than the competition. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Amerigas has screwed up again. In February 2023, they invoiced me for a tank pressure test, which I had not ordered and which they had not performed. After 3 chat sessions and 5 phone conversation totaling over 2 hours, they credited my account. Yesterday, 12/14/23, they filled my tank with 200+ gal (over $1,000) claiming that I had called and made the request. I made no such request. I am and have been on "will call" since last February. there customer service is the absolute worst. they will argue with you on the phone when they in the wrong. trying to charge my for a rental fee when I’ve had 2 deliveries. spoke with 2 different reps to have fee removed and told fee would be removed. instead when I logged into my acct I still had the fee and 2 late fees. Ive never had gas before and i bought my house and it has been absolutely horrible experience. Then put me on a silent hold and never picked back up
Been dealing with AmeriGas for 39 years and they have now gone from an A rating to not rated at all. They sent me a contract in July quoting $2.59 per gallon. Just ordered gas and they wanted $3.35 per gallon because the contract "hasn't been approved". Spent over an hour (again) on the phone with a rep to get the price changed. Amerigas quoted me about $4.20 per gallon, while one of their local competitors quoted about $2.10/per gallon. The Amerigas Customer Service people couldn't explain why they were charging so much more per gallon. I decided to switch to the competitor and then Americas charged almost $300 to remove their tank. It really seems like Amerigas is trying to take advantage of people by overcharging for propane and related services.
On 12-12-23,amerigas came to our property and drained 733.8 gallons of propane out of the tank that we pd for .and removed the tank leaving us without any heat..was not even notified they were taking it..called amerigas 8 times with no results today....12 13 23.
I have four very specific complaints about my FIRST bill after installation. The phone number on our bill was wrong, the online customer support center does not allow new customers in (the company confirms they are aware of the problem). The only way we can find to resolve our issues and pay is to call in. I am currently on hold for the fourth or fifth time. Amerigas has been overcharging me for 15 years. Several months ago Amerigas delivered 100 gallons to my tank that was to be delivered to a neighbor. We have called a dozen times. I received a quote from Amerigas for 4.65 cents per gallon. Another neighbor had 100 gallons delivered to his address for 2.50 per gallon. After 15 years of Amerigas overcharging me, I obtained a quote from a local propane company for 2.50 per gallon. AmeriGas is the worst company I as a consumer have ever experienced. Their propane price is very high (almost $4.00 per gallon compared to average of $2.7-2.9) with terrible customer services that I would NEVER recommend it to anyone. I placed my order on Nov. 30th and the payment was already made. Their delivery was not only delayed for days (from Dec. 7th to Dec. 8th, and then again from Dec. 11 to possibly Dec. 12th, as was promised tonight again by a Resolution Specialist).
