I called Amerigas this winter and asked them not to deliver my auto delivery. We only used our ski house twice this winter but had already been filled several times for well over $1,000. They agreed to not fill it, but then filled it and billed us for over $500. When I called, the agent said "Oh no, I see you called. You won't be billed for that." I am a new customer who purchased a home with a previously leased Amerigas tank. I called to set up a new lease account and paid $250 to establish the account. My tank was almost empty upon setting up the account. ********************** came out to do their "safety check" and confirmed I will need a new tank in approximately six months. I have been an AmeriGas customer since 2006 and to say that anything they offer is customer service is an absolute joke. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The only reason I stuck with them for so long is because no other service was available to me in my area. Their per gallon amount is almost $2.50 higher than the company I just signed up with, and this is the rate for a customer who has been with them for literal decades. Worst company and customer service. Was a customer for 13 years (way too long). This spring I was quoted $4.85 per gallon so I started calling around switched to a local company that charged me $1.88 per gallon. Called Amerigas to come pick up their empty tank (this actually took 4 phone calls, two emails, an online chat, and about 90 minutes of gold time on the phone) and they are charging me a pick up fee of $420. If you move into a house with an Amerigas tank, switch immediately

Amerigas doesn't deserve a 1 star, it deserves 0 stars. The worst company you will ever encounter. Just don't put yourself though the pain. What to expect, hours on the phone waiting to talk to someone, multiple calls and waiting to resolve concerns, and when you finally say enough is enough, expect a bill of $430+ for them to come to your house and pickup their tank which takes all of 15 minutes to load. Ive disconnected my service 3 times now on a home we were renting and Im still getting billed..currently on hold at minute 45 again, on my 8th time trying to get this resolved. And no, I cant schedule a call back on Thursday, last time I did that and my assistant answered the phone you told her she wasnt authorized..

This company has been cheating us out of propane for years now. They charge double what another propane company has quoted me, and when I asked Amerigas to relinquish its tank so we can use another company, they refuse!!We then asked them if we could buy the tank from them so that we can then use another company and again, they refused! How is this not a monopoly? As a customer and consumer, we should be able to use whatever propane company we choose, but Amerigas will not let us accomplish this. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We had different issues during our service time with them and each time we called customer service they gave us a representative that did not speak English and we couldn't understand each other. When their prices were finally too high for us we switched companies and told them to close our account and come get their tank.
