I placed my mother there. She absolutely loves living there. The place was built in 2017 so everything is brand new. The staff and nurses are amazing and very caring. The nurses especially are very attentive and diligent with care. Also the food is excellent! I always look forward to joining my mom in their dining room.
My mother, Faye, spent almost five years in Memory Care at Amica Edgemont Village. The care was extraordinary. I sincerely felt staff genuinely loved her and it was sad to move her to be closer to us on Vancouver Island. If there was an Amica in the Comox Valley we would have seriously considered it, but there isn't. Dementia is a challenging disease and the first several months were quite rocky. Our parents moved into Amica Edgemont Village four years ago when they needed assistance with their daily lives. They were provided with excellent care by the staff who are always so kind to them. As their needs increased, our family really appreciated the round-the-clock services that ensured our parents were safe and had everything they needed. Amica was a great place for my mother to spend her days. Everyone treated her very well and showed compassion and love. Even though she was confined to her residence due to COVID there was always someone to check in on her. The staff are very accommodating to requests and go above and beyond what is required of them. Tim and Roland were run off their feet but still took time to talk to you. Erica and staff diverted a moving day disaster by accommodating our move day even though they were provided the wrong day. My grandma recently moved in here. Her suite is much nicer than what most of my friends can afford to live in. It's spacious, comfortable, and with her furniture and pictures it still feels like home. They have tonnes of activities every day AND dogs are welcome (this was a huge selling point for my grandma). She seems really happy and is making lots of new friends 😊
