My first impression as I drove into the Arbors of Glen Ellyn was how nicely and tastefully the property is kept—from the tall trees to the thoughtful landscaping. It felt warm and welcoming. When I parked, I noticed the spaces were wider than most I’ve experienced. I’ve been living at Arbors for quite some while now. We’ve had washers and dryers break on us, we’ve got an elevator that has been down for almost 2 years, and now our hot water has been turned off, and the usage of our gas appliances has been stopped. They claim it’s a gas leak, they have been working on it for 3 days… and they’ve told us they do not know when we will be able to have hot water, nor do laundry, nor be able to turn on our stove. DO NOT MOVE HERE! The friendly welcoming smiles of the office managers vanish as soon as you sign the lease. After that, they will have nothing but outright contempt for you. In the six years we've been here, it's been a revolving door of managers, and all but one or two have been incompetent, rude, or both. The office is almost never open during their regular business hours, and if they actually return your call, they talk down to you or shrug their shoulders. They don't care about you at all. Easy move in, but terrible experience. Showed me a clean apartment during the tour, then for move in, gave me a completely different apartment that clearly wasn’t cleaned. Fixing anything is a nightmare. One of my outlets went out and they supposedly stopped by and fixed it- nope outlet was still out. One time, I was on the couch, and a maintenance guy just OPENED my door. “Sorry wrong apartment” Buildings are falling apart and they do not take care of it. The kindest staff!! So supportive of our family. Called this place home for the last 2 years and have zero regrets. Super accessible to Roosevelt, Butterfield, and Downtown Glen Ellyn. Had some noisy neighbors the second year, but worked it out :)
