After relocating to State College, I visited Aspen Dental a few months ago. During my initial appointment, they presented me with a bill of approximately $3000 for a deep cleaning, which, after considering my dental insurance coverage, amounted to around $550. DO NOT GO HERE! .This place is the worse dental office! Do not go here! There billing department is the worse and their claims team is even worse. They do not submit claims on time with proper documentation for the insurance company to pay. Then they will charge you on your next visit before you are seen because the insurance hasn't paid yet due to their terrible claims handling team. I went to Aspen dental because they did dentures right there. I knew nothing about dentures at the time. I had the surgery which made me feel like I was nothing more than a number. I was rushed out the door. I was given temps that did not fit.. my impressions for my permanent was done by a girl who was trying to use the wrong plate.. I was told not to pick white because it would look fake.. my denture is uncomfortable, too thick, won’t let me eat… I hate it! The front staff is very very rude and in knowledgeable.. The staff was very friendly. They booked too many appointments all at the same time, which I didn't really care for. I was there for two and a half hours for my appointment and it was just a consultation. And one thing that I don't think is very professional and is very insensitive is that they discuss your financial options and your treatment plan and things like that out in the open. I feel that things like that should be discussed privately not for everyone in the waiting room to hear.
This definitely feels like a corporation that pushes profits above all else. TLDR; The staff are competent at their jobs as far as I can tell, but they definitely just pressure you into procedures and products that more conservative dental practices would recommend you try to manage it first. Long waits for every part, but efficient medical staff. Atrocious customer service, especially when you get to the payment area.
