I have eaten at several Black Bear diners including this one. I have always had extremely good food and service. My experience today was mediocre. Our server was relatively inattentive, our food was really slow in arriving and for the first time I had food I didn't eat due to its lack of taste . The tomato soup tasted like Chef Boyardee ravioli sauce. It was terrible
Food was fine but they had been out of wine for 2 WEEKS!!! Who is running this place???”
The food is consistent at Black Bear and that’s why we stop here. HOWEVER....after a day of LA traffic and a long drive, we were very disappointed to have our server tell us, “we have been out of wine for a while now” when we ordered a glass of Chardonnay. Seriously?!?!??? How does one run a business and not have wine “for a while now”??? Shouldn’t someone go buy some??
