All I can say is ... If you haven't been to this restaurant, you're cheating yourself. Portions are large, Trout is excellent and the service is OUTSTANDING! WILL DEFINITELY STOP IN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.....
Really good food, Huge biscuits, great pancakes, monster portions, an overall pleasant experience
To be honest the food was great, the produce in my salad was 150%...tasty, fresh, wonderful. I had meat loaf and mashed taddies and again 150%...the veggies too. My only issue was when I was first seated it took 10-15 minutes to receive any attention at all, they were not really busy, I was alone so maybe that is why they waited on folks seated after me first. When they realized I had not been helped they poured on the love and made me a happy customer!

I had a good breakfast there but the coffee is way overpriced and the waitress was pretty stingy with the coffee and I sat at the counter she could have come around a little more seeing if I needed coffee I hate paying $2.60 for only two cups of coffee
We love The Black Bear Diner. The food is always top quality and plenty of it. We have eaten at the Buena Park and Costa Mesa, Ca. stores and now the Barstow one. All receive 5 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆ for both food and service!
Best experience to date for a restaurant inside a truck stop I thank Ta/petro needs to do more of theses and drop some of the fast food
