In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Been here a few times. It's one of the best restaurants. Clam chowder, breakfast, prime rib all have been good. The service has never been bad and I love the newspaper menu. It's out of the ordinary, and creative.

ONE WORD.... GREEEEEAAATT!! FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND FILLING. YOU GET A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY. ALL I CAN SAY I ENJOYED THE MEALS THERE. THANK YOU FOR COMING TO BARSTOW �
Food was great!! Service was great!! Servers were great!! On a scale of 1 - 10, a 9.5!! Reason being; steak and eggs on same plate, grease and egg yokes mixed together, not good for dunking toast in. Tried all hot sauces and steak sauce, liked them all. Good quality steak, great food representation. Took a little while to get coffee and water, busy place though. Didn't take long for food. Love the atmosphere; employees do make a difference. WILL DEFINITELY EAT HERE AGAIN!!
