In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Food was good, service was great but the drinks are expensive. Lunch for two with a coffee and a Pepsi and the drinks were a third of the bill. Other than that I will return again and enjoy a water.

What a wonderful family dining experience! The food was hearty, plentiful, and filling, service was prompt and friendly, dessert was out of this world. We felt so invited in this cozy, warm, charming place. We have been to another Black Bear Diner in St. George, UT and did not have the same warm experience as we did here. Thank you, Lindsey (owner) for making this place our new favorite family restaurant!
Have never had anything bad there. Hard to believe the negative reviews. Food has always been super good, monstrous portions & great service & atmosphere. Definitely a place we will return to again & again.
I love this place! The owner is such a sweetheart and the food is fantabulous! Great prices and people.
