Went in here this AM with my cousin, first time at a Black Bear Diner. Food was pretty good and reasonably priced, but really it was the service that was impressive. I think her name was Angelica or Angelina, but she was extremely helpful and attentive throughout the meal, probably the most attentive member of waitstaff I have had in recent memory. Not sure if this is representative of the whole establishment but service like that is definitely more and more a rarity in the bay area and was a pleasant surprise. Thanks Angeli... read more

Kudos to Lea (not sure of the spelling). She really went the extra mile yesterday. Warm, friendly, and really helped us out, even though we told her everything is fine. P.S. What kind of restaurant only has 2% milk?
