In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Stopped by just to check it out - The food was really good and plenty of it. The biscuits are HUGE! Our waitress Rene was AWESOME! She was fast friendly helpful...Just plain AWESOME!!! We will be back--Sitting in her section of course :)

Great restaurant. The corn beef hash was excellent. The homemade biscuit was bigger than my coffee cup. So, so good. Had to wait for 25 minutes, but I went on Labor Day. Definitely worth the wait. Staff was great. Only recommendation is for the restaurant itself- have speaker system for seating. With so many people waiting both inside and out, difficult to hear ones name called.
