In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm ... read more

Driving around Fremont looking for a good place to eat and all of a sudden I saw Black Bear Diner, I only knew of the one in Hayward, so I made a quick u-turn and we headed over. I love this place because it has allot of seating as you wait to be called. I' a vegetarian so I had the huevos rancheros and they were the bomb.come! My mom had the biscuit and gravy with bacon. We sat down, and it was crowded and we were called in less than five minutes! Everyone there was working so hard and so fast to make sure the customers... read more

I go most Fridays for breakfast! Excellent food, service and maybe I've become a regular on those days 😀 Thanks for the great portion sizes and keeping that coffee cup full. I'll be back.
Good comfort food place. Service was exemplary. I had a club sandwich, which was just OK, but a club sandwich is a club sandwich. My wife had a huge Asian chicken salad, and she gave me a taste - it was great. Next time I'll know what to order. ;) We'll definitely be back.
The food and service were real good, I loved our server my problem was the kitchen was very slow it took forever to get our food. It appeared they needed an someone to expedite the food to the tables as I would bet that part of our food was always taken for other tables.
