My first time ever eating at Black Bear Diner in layton location or any location and can I just say WOW! I ordered 2 entrees: NY steak with eggs and a bacon cheeseburger salad.. thinking that an extra salad won’t fill me up that much. First, the steak (medium well) was sooo juicy and perfect! Usually it’s dry in other places but since I can’t do the blood thing I stick with it. This one was perfect! The salad... was huge!! Note to self.. don’t order an extra meal with this salad. The place was busy and for a good reason, the food is delicious. The red chopped potatoes were to die for! The Chicken Fried Steak was good not the best I've had but definitely on the top of my list. I will definitely come back.
Really enjoyed the food although it took awhile after our order before the food arrived. I will say that this particular location just opened and it was a holiday so EVERYBODY was there. Seaters and servers were slammed. Presentation of food was wonderful!

The decor was cute, staff was friendly and went above and beyond. I had the tri tip sandwich, my husband had the chicken fried steak. Portions were huge. Plates came out hot, fries were crisp and food was delicious. We had the lava cake for dessert and it was amazing. My daughter didn't want the dessert, she wanted maraschino cherries. Our waitress gave her a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a ton of cherries on top. Definitely will be back again.
