In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. RecommendedOur waitress was new to the floor. Her first day was Sunday October 10th, 2021. She was THE BEST! Her name was Brandy and she seemed lik she had been there forever. Her great attitude set the mood for the day! She was awesome and I made sure her manager knew. Thank you for hiring such amazing people.

Food was great, as usual. We believe that our server was new and we didn't see a more experienced server or manager helping or shadowing her at all. That's bad for the server, the customers, and the restaurant. We never received our drink refills, had to request condiments, etc. 3-4 times, etc. She was nice and was obviously trying, but she was either having a very rough day or she's been insufficiently trained to serve solo just yet.
