Went to Black Bear Diner this morning, needed some breakfast, so yummy! Great service by Maggie also known as Margarita. She is amazing, very sharp, great smile, and efficient. Took our order for drinks, then our meals, and brought our bill without asking. Kept the coffee filled, offered to bring anything we needed, brought to go container, asked how our food was everything okay. The whole family was very satisfied with our food. My wife had the pesto salmon, I had the Santa Maria tri tip, kids had the chicken fingers and we all split a banana cream pie. Service was great too. My wife and I do not go easy on underwhelming restaurants. We have both waited tables and remember a time when staff was let go if they didn't do their jobs. Our spirits have overall been pretty broken when it comes to dining out. This unassuming, cute, gimmicky small chain gave us something worth its weight on gold; hope. We... read more

I am going to start this review by saying I am not the easiest person to please. I had a craving for some good bacon and so I went to this Black Bear Diner and ordered bacon and eggs. I asked for my potatoes crispy and the red and green peppers sauteed like they do. It came out absolutely perfect. Not to mention the staff that they have working there. I would like to make a special mention for waitresses Vane, Any, and the manager Juan. They treated me like a king. I am a Disabled Proud Marine and things are very tough for m... read more

The tri-tip was tough and some of it had a strange taste. Two of us ordered tri-tip and both had issues with it. Even the table next to us commented about this. Otherwise, the remaining food and service were great.
