In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. It's the original they now have 75... an awesome menu and decor. You can use the menu as a keepsake when traveling. As for they food. Very style and good portions. My husband and I are body builders and eat a lot- well sized. I had the tri tip dinner- green beans and mashed potatoes. Nice blackened medium rare with garlic whipped rich potatoes. Homestyle green beans with cured bacon. And the chicken noodle soup was amazing!

Best staff of any of the Diners. And the food is always amazing. I stop everytime passing thru! By far largest portions and best tasting! All my friends would agree!
