In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Onolicious Chicken Fried Steak, perfect extra crisp Hashbrowns, eggs cooked spot on over easy and two large plate filling light and fluffy pancakes! Big eats! The house coffee is REALLY tasty as well!

Thanks Kate!
We went opening night with our family of 5. Ya, service for food was a little slow but opening night! We were seated right away and enjoyed their wonderful food after a short wait. Our server did amazing with her customer service skills. Especially knowing it was her very first day. Just go with patience amd enjoy the environment! :-) I would recommend having fresh coffee needed for evenings with your wonderful pie.
Business response:
Thanks so much Missy for your rating and feedback! Hope to see you back again soon!
Deeeeelicious! Welcome to the neighborhood! You are dangerously close to my house. I had the chorizo scramble, complete with huge biscuit. I mean, enormous.
Business response:
Yay! Thanks Adam and keep #feedingyourinnerbear!
Ok, so just for clarification, I went on their opening night, I can understand being a little slow with the food, but, with that said. Still took a good half hour to get our food. Other Black Bear diners I have gone to are about 15 min. The customer service was great, place was clean, (it better be for opening night). Food was very good and servings were large as the other BB Diners. I will return with my family and I hope I can give 5 stars next time.
