Homey - casual elegance We stayed in the cottage. Husband and I thought we could live here- everything we needed. Small kitchen included. Could be walkable to downtown if your in shape and walk a lot. (We decided not to walk.) Must mention excellent breakfasts. The chef even gave us some salad dressing to take home when we praised it. It is nice to stay in a convivial atmosphere. Met many like minded travelers. So much better than conventional hotels. (Was disappointed with the gardens. Not in season I guess.)

Robert Frost Room Staff are incredible and nothing is too much trouble for them. We had a fabulous room and the claw foot tub was lovely to relax in, after wine and appetizers at 4.30 pm, before heading out to dinner. Breakfast is and it will fill you up and keep you going throughout the day.

Beautiful facility. Great staff. Breakfast was a gourmet experience. We had an amazing experience in our four day getaway to Asheville. So much to do and see. The 1889 Whitegate Inn was a big part of the success. The staff was very proactive in communicating with us to check on dietary restrictions and accommodate our late Checkin. Charming! My husband and I had a wonderful time! Whitegate was very efficient and helpful during our stay and a wonderful breakfast was prepared every morning. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful BnB Our stay was AMAZING. The house is a beautiful historic home. Our room was the star. Giant room, with sitting area, king size bed, which was very comfortable. The bathtub was so massive my husband and i both fit and looked like children in it lol. 10/10, would stay here again.
