Bond 45, a New York Italian Kitchen & Bar was originally located on 45th street in the former historic Bond Clothing Store (1948-1977), is now open in its new home on 46th street. Bond 45 is best known for its vegetable antipasto bar which offers a rotating selection of market vegetables and features an expansive menu that include specialty veal chops, seafood, house made pasta, thin crust pizza and breakfast all day.

My husband and I dined here before a show on a Thursday night. The staff was very friendly, but the service was on the slow side. The food was just ok. The “warm” lobster salad is not warm, kind of on the smallish side, and nothing exciting. My husband’s steak was good, but overpriced. The truffle fries are good. With all of the options to eat out in NYC, we will definitely be looking elsewhere next time.

Good food & service but overpriced
We were a party of 4 for lunch. We sat with another party of 4 at an 8 top which was a bit uncomfortable. Our server started out being very attentive, but When it came time to ask for our check he vanished. Ten minutes later we received our check and then after waiting nearly 10 more minutes we needed to approach the server to let him know we would like our payment to be processed. Other than those 2 disappointing aspects, the food was quite good and the rest of the waitstaff was friendly and efficient.
Our waiter made several comments about the fact that the portions were small. Considering the cost of entrees and the small portions although the food was excellent the overall value was only good. I had the vegetarian selection and was not impressed with three small vegetable portions for $21.
When it was announced that Bond 45 was closing in 2015 I was distraught! It was always my go-to place for pre and post theatre. So when they reopened in a new space last year nobody was happier than me! The upstairs evokes the old space, and downstairs you feel like you're dining in Italy. The food is, as it ever was, fabulous! A little pricey but worth it!
I had not been back to Bond 45 since they opened in their new site. I was pleased to see that the décor closely resembled that of the former site. While the menu is somewhat limited, my roasted chicken was excellent and next time we will order from the appetizer bar as well. the service was excellent and we never felt rushed. This is a great stop for pre or post theater.

I can not say enough good things about this restaurant! We had a great dining experience here. we were greeted right away and given a choice on where we wanted to sit. The waiter that took care of us was very charismatic and made our experience there wonderful. The food was delicious and we ended the meal with some of the best New York style cheese cake we had ever eaten. I would gladly eat here again, the next time my family is in New York.
