10/20 - Cannot recommend this place as I took my pup there for a trial night with 2 day stays and she came home with Kennel Cough. I took her to the vet today and they said they have seen more than 5 cases alone today. I called Breed Above and they didn't seem to care much. I drove by the place today and saw that it was filled with dogs. I get that kennel cough is sometimes inevitable, but I would expect that they would take greater care to perhaps close down the facility and sanitize it once it is confirmed that they ha... read more

10/20 - Bordatella, aka Kennel Cough, is running ramped through this place as of today. I contacted them and let them know that my dog and others have contacted the virus from their facility, and received an "oh well, there is nothing I can do about it" response. Steer clear for a few weeks, if even that amount of time can clear it!

BEWARE - THIS PLACE IS NOT THE PRETTY PACKAGE IT MARKETS TO THE PUBLIC. We went for the evaluation for our one year old golden doodle. He came back with cuts on his front knees, bleeding. They brought him out and were clearly scolding him as we watched through the clear window door. We were shocked to see him with both his front legs bleeding! I thought we would love using Breed Above for our dog's boarding and grooming. The place seems so nice and centrally located. I've used their grooming services twice, and boarded my dog for a long stay once. They would not give me a price for my dog over the phone on dog grooming, so I had to bring my dog in for a price. The groomer looked him over and said it would be about $65. When I returned to pick him up, I was charged $80. I went in to BreedAbove to get some boarding information for my dog and to check on a friend of mines dog who was boarding there at the time. The workers were very rude and unfriendly. I think it is more of a hard core training facility then a place for boarding, fun and relaxation for your pooch .Also extremely expensive.

Had a pretty bad time with them. Not at all worth the cost...she was also rude to some of our friends who used them for bording. Stay away!

I took my two 20 lbs terriers to this business - Aside from the cost of the grooming I had to pay out $1500.00, in numerous trips to the vet and a long drive to Lansing to see an animal eye specialist. Her eye had been blown dry, along with her hair, so extensively that her eye had dried out and 'cracked'. When I went in to discuss this issue the owner was really nasty. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone.

Very expensive. We had our 1-year-old, very energetic pup stay here for an extended weekend. We were willing to spend the $60+/night boarding fee because this place advertises that they train the dogs while boarding them, and our dog was still learning to socialize. (Side note: We personally cared less about the "amenities" that this place has (day spa, real beds w/tvs for the dogs), but I guess some people would feel that those extras make the steep prices worth it.) So expensive for a place that has absolutely no grass for the dogs to play on. The former parking lot they use is just awful for the dogs. No comfortable place to lie down or to play. Super hot on the paws even with the cheap awning over head, in the summer and no real room to run. The dogs all looked miserable- when I visited. The staff are so snooty and rude!
