Crowded and noisy. We thought the pizzas and the antipasti bar are a little overpriced. Also, $4.95 for a coke!!! That is really over the top! We did enjoy it though. the food is good.
I believe that they overbooked that evening and while we waited about 35 minutes to get seated some people with reservations left. Overall though, we had a good time and made it to the Ballet on time.
High quality Italian. Wait staff honestly works to make make sure that any needs are met. Tables were quite close as typical in city restaurants, but not really a bother since the other diners are quite pleasant. I would recommend the house made pasta dishes - very good. The "open faced" lasagna was outstanding. The desserts were equally wonderful. We had the Chocolate Mousse and Cheesecake. Cafe Fiorello is a West Side mainstay, a perfect place to eat if you're going to Lincoln Center or a film at any of the nearby cinemas. The pasta dishes are amazing, and the mains not far behind. While the people traffic is busy to the point of chaotic, the food is excellent and the waiter staff trained to serve and get you to your performance on time. Book ahead and come early!!! And don't expect to get a seat at the appetizer bar. It's first come, first serve, and there's always a waiting list near performance time.
Cafe Fiorello is right across the street from Lincoln Center, so it's always jammed from 6-8pm with vibrant people who love the arts. Lots of energy. Food is excellent. Good people watching. Wonderful antipasto bar. delicious food. Not cheap.
The food is very good, from the simple (pizza) to the more complex. The antipasto bar is also very good. And the profiteroles are worth saving your appetite for. In spite of the crowds it serves, the Cafe Fiorello somehow manages to make you feel like a welcome guest. (Perhaps because they sometimes pass baking sheets of cookies around?) All this, and they get you out in time for your curtain, no matter how slim a margin you've given them. A joyous place.
Very convenient for dining after Lincoln center performance. Food is good but not out of the ordinary of what one would expect. The restaurant space is small and the tables are crowded. Good experience overall.
Just for its location alone, just across the street from Lincoln Center, perfect for opera goers, Cafe Fiorello is very handy....that it also a delightful spot, with great ambiance, nice wooden panneling, faaux tin drop ceiling that still looks wonderfully period NYC, with an energetic and smiling, funny waitstaff, etc...not to mention that the food, Italian anitipasti to die for visible in heaped display cases, with a fulll Italian support menu and nice wine list is a cherry on top.....book early if you are going to the the... read more
