We went with friends on the evening of Thanks Giving. The food was very good. My friends had salads with their special burrata which was very delicate. I had the ravioli - or whatever name they gave to a kind of pasta that looked like big raviolis - which were very tasteful. The sauce was too oily. The only aspect, which is understandable but not agrèeable, is that we were received by the maitre that told us, right at the door, that due to the special date, we should place our order as soon as possible because they closed at... read more
We loved the 1 lb. order of mussels with lobster. Also, the bucket of chocolate mousse was the perfect desert experience!
This has been one of my top spots for dinner when visiting New York. As usual, the food was very good and I went with the "open face" lasagna - one of their specialties. The disappointment on this visit was with the service. It took a long time for the waiter to take the drink order, deliver the drinks and return for the order for the meal. And - I am a VERY low maintenance patron, so the service has to be REALLY slow for it to be an issue. Service in the past has always been very good, so this may have been a one off. With so few options close to lincoln center we always plan a trip to fiorellos and it almost fit the bill- the food was perfectly fine but not exemplary.
There were 5 of us, and 4 ordered the special Thanksgiving menu. Everyone enjoyed the butternut squash soup and the gnocchi appetizers. But the Thanksgiving menu was a big disappointment (and at $68 per person). The turkey was dry and so tough it was difficult to cut with a knife. The dark meat was inedible. The plates must have been microwaved before they came to the table because the cranberry sauce was hot. So hot that it took forever to cool down. One of us had six terrific items from the antipasti bar and LOVED it.
We had a fabulous time at our old stand-by across from Lincoln Center. Cleber at the bar took fantastic care of us as we enjoyed large plates of very well prepared Italian antipasti and a nice bottle of Primitivo!
Great Lincoln center location. Food is efficiently presented. Excellent service.
When we travel to New York for the Met Opera - our #1 go-to place is Cafe Fiorello. We nearly always sit at the bar where the waiters with jaunty straw hats serve our every need. The wonderful cold and hot food there on display is a meal in itself. We always order eggplant caponata and carmelized fennel. You cannot go wrong with any of the choices. Everything is made in-house including the wonderful Limoncello digestiv. We are so hooked, we have often eaten lunch and late-night dinner too. The paper thin crust pizza is out o... read more
My partner and I had dinner at Fiorello after the opera, and we had such a delicious meal! The veggie antipasti would have been a great dinner in themselves, but we ordered the chicken paillard. That in itself was such a delicious choice; the chicken was pounded very thin and lightly grilled with olive oil and lemon and a hint of fresh parsley. All in all, a delicious meal with excellent service.
