Good value The hotel has a nice pool with atmosphere. The location of the hotel is close to restaurants and downtown Palm Springs. The rooms are basic, but have a nice TV with on demand cable. Great value and would stay at Caliente Tropics again.
Quick last minute stay while passing through town My tub did not drain properly and the shower head was not attached. Room 146 The pillows were nice and the people at the front desk were so nice upon check in and check out. I overheard them giving another guest recommendations for a place to eat dinner.

Great Exterior Tiki Ambiance - Somewhat Disappointing Room The room interior was clean enough. The furnishing and fabrics were 80's vintage, well worn and weren't in keeping at all with the 'Tiki' expectations we had from the exterior appearance of the buildings. The individual air conditioning unit in our room was loud and the vent blades were filthy. The restaurant and bar were in the process of being renovated so there weren't any food or beverage options on the property although we did find a few good spots within easy w... read more

Kitschy Charm The poolside restaurant and bar were closed during our stay. Maybe it's only used for special events? This mid-century tiki-themed hotel is pet friendly, it has a grassy area with shaded cabanas and a great family-friendly pool.
