Cute, cozy, romantic, relaxing, and affordable! Caliente Tropics is not the Four Seasons, nor does it claim to be. But for what it is, I could ask for almost nothing more. The bedding was so plush and comfortable. I slept like a baby each night. The rooms were very clean and serviced regularly- including fresh towels and new coffee for the in-room coffee maker each day. The pool is incredibly clean and beautiful. Stayed the weekend for a wedding in Palm Springs. Pros: - great location - hotel staff is very nice and accommodating - Tiki bar is really cool and the food is good! - pool area is really pretty Cons: THE WEBSITE PHOTOS ARE VERY DECEIVING!!!! - rooms are dated and kind of dirty. Had an "old" smell and very dark. Uncomfortable beds and everything really needs an upgrade. Very cheap motel feel. This is an absolute gem from another time. If you’re expecting the Four Seasons, this definitely isn’t it, however the rooms are clean, staff is excellent and the grounds / hot tub / pool / The Reef bar are fantastic for any tikiphile. It’s got an incredible retro vibe, and is very well maintained for the age of the hotel.

Nice accommodations for the price!! Conveniently located, but if you want to just hang by the pool, it has all the amenities. Good food at the restaurant, full bar, perfectly heated pool and spa, and a nice little greenbelt area to play outdoor games or relax in a cabana, plus decent music selection for ambiance. Good place for family fun!

We picked this hotel because of the retro tiki vibe and because it came up on the list of family friendly hotels in the area. We were pretty excited at check in, the lobby and pool area are pretty awesome. Then we got to our room. Seriously disappointed. I guess it was clean but they are seriously out dated and not very nice. One of the outlets worked a quarter of the time we were there, they don’t have outlets by the beds like typical hotels.
