I am a friend or relative of a resident Just to preface, I am a daughter of a patient at Pine Rest in Paramus, NJ and have visited my mother there on a number of occasions. I would say that the staff is very helpful and very attentive. From observation, they are very patient with some of the more difficult patients. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident Some of the caretakers were very good but they were severely overloaded and could not attend to the patients as needed. When my Mom got kicked out (her Medicare ran out), I was told "She'll never walk again. You should put her in a home." Such horrible advice. Mom DID walk and eat and do all the things this place didn't have her do because of lack of care. Do not send your loved ones here.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident As crazy as this sounds, my father was forced to call 911 twice on his own (first time his catheter was blocked, second time he was having a heart attack). He begged the nurses both times to call 911 and they refused and lied by telling him he wasn’t permitted to call 911 on his own either. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident I typically don't write reviews, but this has been the worst experience our family has had with a member in any facility. Their rehab nursing staff, especially on the weekend, is horrific. My mom wasn't cleaned for hourse, never recieved responses to her call button. So when we went, we tested it. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident It might be only a short time I'm dealing with this facility, but within 20 hours they managed to commit 3 medication errors. One of the medication is life sustaining. The facility itself looks good but the Nursing care is less than adequate. It would be nice if these facility would pay a decent salary so they could hire trained people and provide good and safe care to their patients. I am a Nurse myself and have some insight. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident I implore everyone to stay away from this rehab facility. Upon discharge my relative had lost more than 25% of their body weight in less than 30 days. In fact they never bothered to check my relative's weight at all during those 30 days. In addition, they misrepresented my relative's abilities saying the resident could move from bed to chair when in fact they could not even support their own weight and stand upon discharge.
