RecommendedI love the direction EOGH is going in. New lobby, new cafeteria and all new private patient rooms. This community hospital will be a benchmark for all others.
The surgery and nursing teams here get top marks. However the doctors on the floor, and administration staff do not. In that regard, the rot starts at the very top. Every board member from the CEO down should either step down or be fired and replaced with a staff that prioritizes patient outcomes rather than profit. This morning(10-16-22) approximately around the time of 4:30am-5:00am an obviously intoxicated female patient walked-in being extremely loud and began hurling profanity & violent threat at the staff

I live in East Orange and when ever there’s an emergency we always go to this hospital. And I’m noy saying all the staff member but there some that feel like they are better than the rest. My brother had a problem 2 times with the same female front desk clerk, who always seem to have an attitude and something slick to say. We were in there for testing, they keep telling us the wrong things to do. They were suppose to call us in 5 days with results, no one did. this hospital is extremely incompetent extremely lackadaisical..the nurses & receptionists are the only people sufficient enough to take care of patients. I've tried chance after chance to see if this hospital will get better but no matter who takes over the amount of incompetence and laziness will never change. The state needs to close it down like they did Orange Memorial Hospital. If you care about your well being DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!
RecommendedDo not go To East Orange General Hospital. My experience in the ER was just okay, accept I had to spend a 1/2 day there because there were no beds when I was admitted. I was in the telemetry unit, and all I can say is the nurses are young and inexperienced and don't use much common sense. My recommendation is to go elsewhere unless this is the closest place when there is an emergency, and then consider being transferred if you are going to be admitted.
