The Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) was established in 1971 to oversee development of an international trade and exhibition center in Atlanta that today is known as the Georgia World Congress Center. Along with the convention center, GWCCA’s ever-evolving campus spans 220-plus acres and includes Centennial Olympic Park, the lasting legacy of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United and, opening in 2022, GWCCA’s headquarter hotel Signia by Hilton. Beautiful spring day, early in the morning, was a lovely time to visit. Had the place to myself. Can be enjoyed as a big open space lined by pavillions, water features and a playground. Or if you have the time, walk through the "quilt" areas, each dedicated to a different aspect of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. I was fascinated by the amount of thought and detail that was put into the planning of this space. Loved all the water features, including the splash park that you can walk through. Fun stop!
Centennial Olympic Park is one of the most beautiful and well maintained parks I have ever seen in my life. The park has a few small waterfalls and streams running thru it. It’s in the heart of Downtown Atlanta and has the world of Coca Cola nearby. I love this park it is definitely a great place to relax, have a pic nic or take a date.
Beautiful park with plenty to see. I really enjoyed the origin of sport statue, and the tribute to sport as well. The Olympic rings are a showstopper, and there are plenty spaces to wander, relax, and take in the Atlanta sunshine. Relatively safe, and closes down after sunset.
Iconic park in the Atlanta downtown area. Very clean and well maintained, give it's historic significance and the Olympic rings, flags and ferris wheel!
We went in late February! The weather was cool so there weren't many people around! We walked from Georgia Aquarium! It's a great place for walking, taking pictures, and potentially picnics! I will return again!!!
Centennial Olympic Park has a 4.7 star rating with 28,194 reviews.
Centennial Olympic Park is closed now. It will open on Sunday at 7:00 a.m.
