He earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 from Iowa State University and Bachelor of Science at North Dakota State University in 1978. He has extensive experience in internal medicine, surgery and many levels of emergency care. He previously worked as Hospital Director at Lynwood Veterinary Center. Lance and his family have lived in Duvall since 1997.

New patient visit, staff was friendly and professional. Exam was thorough and informative. Tests requested were preformed onsite and results communicated promptly. Staff made me feel involved in the process. Cost was reasonable and fair. Highly recommended.
We are new to Cherry Valley, as we followed Dr. Carlson who is an amazing, caring and dedicated veterinarian. We have full faith that she came to Cherry Valley because it is a very reputable practice/hospital. We know we will only receive the best healthcare for our senior dog.
This is the first review I have ever submitted, and might I add, for good reason. 'Cherry Valley Veterinary Hospital' has provided the most caring, and thorough, veterinary care for my dog, dusty. He actually gets excited to go to the vet. The "cherry" on top is the added fact that all of this comes at an affordable price, unlike certain other veterinary practice's local to the area. They are always very warm and welcoming when we need to go to the vet. The doctor is very thorough and honest, as he had no problem telling us that our pets were overweight (which we didn’t know) We’ve made changes to their diet. The thing I appreciate the most is how thorough the doctor is. And also, after our wellness check up, I walked out without the dogs medication (left them on the counter) and they called me and they shipped them to me. That saved me an hour drive and I really appreciated it.
We brought our new puppy here for the first time in Nov 2025. The staff was kind and courteous answering all our questions. Best of all you felt like family coming in the door. Excellent service, reasonable pricing-the puppy package is great. Thank you Duvall Cherry Vet!
