The experience was good, and everything went smoothly. However, I never felt engaged in the process. I believe the issue is inherent in the mortgage industry, that the higher rate you can sell me, the more money Guaranteed Rate will make, which is in direct conflict with being a financial partner. I need to advocate for myself and don't think I can rely on a mortgage broker to put my best interests first.
