Excellent neurologist I was referred to Dr. Applegate by my physical therapist who noticed a troubling neuropathy concerning my left foot. I was diagnosed with CIDP and she started aggressively treating it with daily IVIg infusions for a week. My infusions are now weekly and the neuropathy has not progressed. I have been seeing her for a year now and i know that i would not be functional if it hadn't been for her fast, aggressive treatment and continuing physical therapy.
I just read all these negative reviews and I can see some truth in what they say. However, I have been to her several times with excruciating headaches and yes, her bedside manners are lacking. But, I'm convinced that she is highly professional and very qualified in her field. She's a straight shooter and doesn't mix words when she has something to say. I arrived early and was very quickly given about an hour of brain wave tests by an associate for a suspected seisure problem. I was very pleased with Dr Applegate who spent more time with me than any other doctor I have known and was appeared very intelligent in her explaintion of my problem. My wife who was with me commented that Dr Applegate was absolutely great in her opinion and has recommended her to several friends and I am of like opinion. I know Dr. Applegate is knowledgeable about her field of expertise. I appreciate Dr. Applegate seeing my granddaughter of 7 years old. I had a cerebral hemorrhage when I was 12 yrs. old. I was not suppose to live through it. It has been 35 yrs. now, chronic pain and memory problems, depending on my level of pain. I now deal with seizures more than ever. how refreshing to find a physician that listens. Accurate at diagnosis; explained all of the tests. Staff were kind and took extra care to make sure that my medication list was accurate.
Dr. Applegate has treated me for at least 10 years. I suffer from bipolar affective disorder, and she is better than any of the shrinks I saw before her both in MO and CA She is a brillant woman with a great deal of empathy. She is also very good at moniroring my meds, which are the most important aspect of my treatment. She is late because she works at a hospital clinic and everybody takes too much of her time because she is concerned with her patients.
