I am/was a resident of this facility I am residing in the independent living community of Colonial Heights Senior Living in Florence. The food is good, and they check on you if, for some reason, you don't go down to the dining room or the front desk. They check every single day, and they call for a wellness check. I thought that's a good selling point, although I haven't needed that because I have gone down at least once every day. I visited this facility My sister will move into Colonial Heights Senior Living. The staff was very accommodating. They took us around and showed us everywhere. It was very nice. We're in a one-bedroom apartment. We're in the studio. It's very small because it's not what she's used to, but it seemed like all the furnishings and stuff she would need fit. So, it's pretty spacious. The kitchen was very small, though, but she won't be using the kitchen anyway. The kitchen could be larger, but it would accommodate what she needs.

I am/was a resident of this facility My wife and I have found a place in Colonial Heights Senior Living. They're doing a lot of remodelling, which is good. According to the income for this place, this is one of the cheaper places for independent living. It's affordable and there are benefits, which include two meals a day, and most of the utilities are covered. The staff is friendly too. I am/was a resident of this facility The staff is superb. They are very caring, always pleasant, and work extremely hard to offer help when we need it--really more like family than staff. There is a wide range of well-planned apartment sizes and options. The food is, of course, institutional, but very good and includes something for everyone. Beautiful grounds, nice places to relax outside with friends when weather permits. Exercise facilities, lots of varied activities, small beauty shop, etc. A very friendly community.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My father-in-law moved to Colonial Heights and Gardens and they pay attention to their residents. They don't just say, "Okay, go sit in your apartment until we call you for dinner." There are activities and they're checking in on them. They have a bus that takes residents to go shopping if they don't have some other form of transportation. You can arrange it. They have volunteers that can arrange to drive people to doctor's appointments as long as they're within a five-mil... read more

The meals are provided and they said if you couldn't make it down to the dining area that they would bring them up to your room, which is good. Everything was great. I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My parents moved here about a month ago. We chose it because it's a referral and pretty much kind of the only one that had something available. It's a very clean and very nice place. They've been there a month, so they've been dealing with a lot of doctor's appointments. I can't say that they've settled down enough to do any activities.
