I wish I would have read these reviews before hiring this firm! We paid Cordell & Cordell roughly $12,000 total to represent our daughter in a custody case, starting with a $2,500 retainer. Payment was either cash or a card that was charged an additional 3% fee every time they billed it, and charges against the retainer came frequently. At one point the firm double-charged her card -- withdrawing twice the amount owed -- which emptied her account and caused her card to be declined when she tried to make purchases. Well, I use this company a little over 14 years ago because I heard about them on the radio that they were a divorce attorney company for the man! I had two different attorneys with this Lawfirm. Both of them were incompetent nothing about the laws in the state of Texas. I lost my case along with everything that Had! My Ex Wife got 70% of the 60% of my 401(k), we walked out of court one day! 10 years after the divorce and sickens me to hear there ads on the radio! I fell for it andThey didn't represent me well, but charged premium price. My advice is to go tosomebody else.
I would not recommend this firm. They say they are for the fathers that could not be farther from the truth. Kara Garcia was supposed to represent me. Only thing she did was conside everything toward my EX! And I mean everything. Worst firm EVER
Aaron Pickelner with Cordell & Cordell time and time again didn't respond to emails. Racked up 4x retainer to pursue a judgement and got nothing! Cordell and Cordell further adds insult to injury with credit card like interest rates.

I used Cordell & Cordell thinking they work for fathers rights. I was assigned Kara Garcia in Houston, Texas. Absolutely botched this divorce. Paperwork was wrong. When I asked to fix it she replied with it's ok sign it and we will fix it later. Never got fixed. Had back child support issues that should have been litigated by my team yet between the mediator, Cordell and Cordell, and her legal team...the ball was dropped. Ruined my credit. If I could zero stars, I would. I was told my divorce would be $4000-$5000 and when it was all said and done, it was over $12,000. We were not fighting over a house or kids. Also, I had to give them a $5000 retainer in case we went to trail, we didn't, and they still spent all the additional $5000 and was told they needed another $1000 to bring my file to an end.
