The family and I arrived at 930am. We were seated quickly. The waitress was attentive. Grilled cheese was ordered for the kid and grits with cheese. The grilled cheese sandwich had cheese on it that didn't melt. I had grandma's sampler. I was allowed to substitute grits instead of eggs. That's something new. Both the spicy grilled catfish AND the fried catfish were DELICIOUS! As were ALL of the sides; dumplings, baby carrots, spiced apples, steak fries, coleslaw, and mac-n-cheese! However, service was the worst we've ever experienced at a Cracker Barrel. Do not know where to start…. We waited more than 15 min for them to ask us for our drinks, and waited over an hour for our food. When the food arrived did not have any flavor, and it was cold. If you see the cheese bites there was a peace burnt. Try to call the staff and would not come, everyone that was eating was complaining about the service and/or food. The welcome was warm, we were seated quickly and our server was excellent. The food was stale, given it was 7:30pm I realize that we were the end of the day but it was truly reheated from probably much earlier in the day. Disappointing. But if you’re going to shop then you will be delighted.
I went into restaurant to pick up to go breakfast for me and a sick sister I was visiting there in Pearl MS. Restaurant was not busy and everyone was polite and I know the whole time I was there ( I was in restaurant for about 20 min) and my sister food she says was ok although she didn't eat much. But!
