The title company (Timios) selected by Mutual Omaha was incompetent to say the least. They couldn't figure out how to write the title. The delays caused multiple rate lock extensions which cost me money. We had to send the title work from previous title companies to Timios so they could figure out how to write the title, very sad. They didn't get the address correct on our final paperwork, so we had to mark through the address and correct our papers during signing. The credit card amounts to be paid off from the cash out were from an old inquiry and therefore were not accurate. It took some work to make them happen. I sent the most recent statements and was told that the amounts would be adjusted, but that adjustment didn't happen. For example, the amount to be paid off for my Chase bank card was $1100 more than the amount owed. Chase will not accept a payment more than the amount owed to be applied to the card. During my years of buying and refinancing homes I have not had to produce documents so far into the refinancing process. All other lenders knew of at least 95% of documents that would be needed. This refi took 2xs as long to process, in the end it was not the way I intended i.e. loans paid off that did not need to be while the 1 bill I needed to paid was not. Overall it was not a smooth process. Dan may not have the ability to make it less stressful but in the end he was my representative.

The interest rate of 3.7% was great but I was so disappointed with the MI insurance, yes its drops in 2023, but I really didn't prefer to pay an extra $64.00 added to my mortgage and the hefty $10,000 closing fee. So now I must figure out how to pay this MI insurance off before my first mortgage payment 🤔🤔🤔🤔
